No more...PACI

On May 26 we could not find Andrew's Paci and so we decided that we would take it away from him for good! I was dreading that night because I just knew he would scream the entire night, he was used to sleeping not only with 1 paci, but 2 (one in his mouth and one in his hand). Well, Michael told him we couldn't find it and that'd have to sleep without it. Andrew cried for maybe 5 minutes before falling asleep. He then slept until I woke him up at 8:15 the next morning, that's the latest he's slept in a LONG time!! Maybe I should have taken it away a long time ago?!? The next day he found a couple of his pacis in various places in the house, he brought them to me and I put them up.

My baby is no longer a baby! It's really quite sad to me. He's growing up way too quickly. Why can't they stay little longer??? I miss the baby stage, but I also enjoy the stage he is in now.

Now it's time for potty-training, anyone have suggestions??? :)

Memorial Weekend Visit

We decided to take a quick trip down to Thomasville for Memorial Weekend. We had a good time. I feel like we really didn't get to see everyone, or spend a lot of time with everyone. I always feel so rushed on these short weekend trips.
We left Clayton around 4:45 pm on Friday evening and headed down. We decided to stop in Gainesville to exchange my Mp3 player that was no longer working and while in Gainesville we decided to stop at the IHOP, yummy! God blessed us during this dinner...the gentleman that was sitting in the booth behind us paid for our dinner without us even knowing it! We were so surprised and felt so blessed. We prayed for him, that the Lord would bless him and let him know of our thanks. After dinner we traveled on to Coolidge and got there right around midnight!!
On Saturday, Michael rode with his brother, Matthew, in his police car for most of the morning. He had a really good time. I know Michael misses Matthew and the time they spend together is cherished! I was lazy and took a nap with Andrew while he was gone, Carrie hung out with KK!
Saturday evening we went out to my dad's house for a fish fry and it was delicious!!
Sunday Michael and I sang at Coolidge Baptist Church, I always enjoy getting to sing with him! It was fun and then we went over to Grandma's for lunch and it was great, as usual. I still miss Grandma's lunches!!!
Sunday evening I took the kids late to Newark, but I got to see a lot of people I still miss. I got lots of hugs that night!! :) I love hugs! It is nice to know that people still remember me!
Then we went out to eat with our friends from church, that was fun! I miss getting to do that each Sunday night!
We left Barberitos and went to my dad's house for the evening. We stayed up talking to dad and Linda until after midnight. That was fun! Then on Monday morning we played outside with dad and Linda. Carrie, Andrew, Michael and grandaddy went fishing for a bit, they didn't catch too much then they came back to the house and rode the mule for a while. I had a good visit with them! We left there for lunch at Matthew and Christina's, it was very good. I was still full from breakfast, but couldn't pass up the yummy dessert she had made! After lunch we headed off to Clayton!!
I took no pictures while home, can you believe it? I wish I had taken some, but I just never thought about it! It was a good weekend. I'm sure I've made you bored, if anyone even reads this thing!!!

Carrie's Pre-K Graduation

Another milestone was made last night, Carrie graduated from Pre-K. I am very proud of her, it's one of those bittersweet moments though because I realized that if 5 years has flown by this fast, then I know the next 13 are going to go by too fast as well! I watched her last night in her cap and gown and I began to think of her at her high school graduation, and then college graduation. I am so proud of the little girl she has become and I know that the future is bright for her. Yes, I got teary eyed last night, no loud sobbing or anything, but my baby is growing up WAY TOO FAST!!! I am so proud of you, Carrie Elizabeth!!!

Celebrate Recovery

Last Night, which was Monday, May 18, I was asked to lead in the music at Celebrate Recovery, a program we have at our church that helps people who have problems that they need to talk about with a spiritual emphasis. I'm sure you can look it up on the internet if you'd like. However, I just wanted to say it was such a great experience for me. The worship experience there was magnificent. I could feel the Spirit of the Lord and I know He was there with us! It was absolutely amazing. I am so glad I didn't turn down this opportunity, maybe oneday I'll have that opportunity again. Some of these people are so hungry for Jesus, and throught Celebrate Recovery I feel that they are being fed!
Praise God!!!

Soccer is over!!

Tonight we had our last soccer game! It has definitely been an interesting season, coaching 4, 5, & 6 year olds has been fun, but what a challenge! Carrie has improved so much from the very beginning of the season! Michael and I have been so proud of her. She gets so timid when some of those bigger kids begin defending her, but she'll get better!
Our record wasn't real good, we only won 1 game, but the most important thing is that we had fun, right?!? Yeah, it is!!! They have also improved so much from the beginning of the season.
It was fun and great experience for me!!!
Wonder if I'll coach again?!?!?!

WE WON!!!

We had a soccer game last night, and since we have not won a single game yet, I must admit that I went into this game thinking it'd be like all the others, but.... They Proved me wrong!!!
My team played awesome! We shut them out, the score was 1-0. It feels good to win a game, I think even the kids felt great winning!
Carrie even played better, she was more aggressive and actually went after the ball. I was so proud of her.
We play again Thursday night and I know if we play as well as we did last night we have a good chance of winning again!!!

Mother's Day

Yesterday was Mother's Day! I had a great day with my wondeful husband and children! It started out with breakfast in bed, then church, then a nice lunch at a small little restaurant called Kountry Vittles, then I got to take the longest nap ever!!!! It was a nice day! I was also given a fern from Michael and Andrew!

I am so thankful to have such a wondeful family, I sometimes forget how good I've got it now! Somedays I tend to live in the past and dwell on what was and forget to focus on where God has brought me!

Mother's Day is not necessarily my favorite day of the year, because I so desperately want that normal mother/daughter relationship with mom, and I hate to say it but it will never be that way! I tend to get very jealous of others that get to go shopping with their mom, or go to the movies, or even get to have a normal dinner with their mom on mother's day! I, however, am very thankful that my mom is still living and that she seems to be doing okay, it's just not that typical relationship!!!!

I must make a comment about my mother-in-law too, since I am speaking of Mother's Day! I truly know that God put her into my life at the perfect time! I am very thankful for her and all she does for us!

Sorry if this is a somewhat depressing log!! I needed to get that off my chest, do I feel better, not really, but maybe someone can offer words of wisdom! Thanks for reading!

Prom Night

One of the duties that Michael gets to perform for his job is Prom Duty! However, that means that the whole family can attend as well. We had planned on making it a family event this year, but then Andrew decided to get sick on us. He began running a 102.3 temperature about 5 this afternoon, therefore mommy gets to stay home with him! Carrie did go with Michael and they made a great looking couple. She was complaining about going because I wouldn't be there with her, but I know she's having a blast right about now! Michael looked very handsome and Carrie looked beautiful, they made a great looking pair!!
