Train Ride
A couple of weeks ago I was lucky enough to win a raffle for 2 free train rides at the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway...I never win anything! We had to use the tickets by the end of the year and couldn't use them at all during the month of October (I'm guessing because that is their busy season), so we went ahead and used them before basketball season starts! We drove over the mountain today to Blue Ridge, GA for a day of family fun! The train ride goes from Blue Ridge, GA to McKaysville, GA. It was a fun ride and the kids had a blast!
We were very disappointed with lunch, we chose to eat lunch at the Nifty Fifty cafe and the service was terrible! The food was descent but we spent about an hour and a half waiting...took up the majority of our time there in McKaysville! Oh well, we got to make memories with our children today, that's all that counts!
All in all we had a great day together!

Daddy-Daughter Date
Chic Fila in Clayton had a Daddy-Daughter Date Night last Tuesday night. Carrie had been talking about wanting to go and of course Michael took her. They had a blast together! We try to make it a point to spend time individually with each child!
While Michael and Carrie went to dinner, Andrew and I spent the evening together at the house! I love my family, God has blessed me beyond measure!

What a fun Sunday afternoon!
Today we decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather and take the kids up to the football field for some family fun! I walked around the track for about 30 min while Carrie rode her bike and the boys played baseball and football! After Carrie and I got done exercising we all played football as a family, what fun it was! I love these family times and the memories we are making!

"The Last Song"
What a great book! First of, I love Nicholas Sparks, and this book was no exception!Sparks writes love stories that makes you feel like you are a part of the story!
This book is about a troubled girl who has to go visit her dad for the summer, even though she doesn't want to! Her dad gives her her space and lets her be who she thinks she is....during this time she meets a boy! The boy she meets is not necessarily her "type" but she falls head over heels for him, as he does her!
Not only does she meet and fall in love with Will, but her relationship with her dad and brother grows tremendously! This book is about relationships!
I would totally recommend this book, especially if you want an easy love story!
Enjoy this book!

"Small Town Girl"
What a great book! I picked this book up at the library, one of the reasons I chose it was because of the cover...I know, don't judge a book by it's cover, but it was cute!I'm glad I chose this one, it was a really good book. It told of a story of a famous country-western singer that had to go back to her hometown to take care of her mother after surgery.
In the beginning she didn't want to be back in Wintergreen because her schedule was nothing like it was in Nashville, however once she gets used to it again she loved the small town life. Especially after she gets to know the next door neighbor that she grew up with.
This is a book you ought to check out and read, it was a very easy read and I loved the story it told!
Uncle Doyle's suprise party
We traveled home last weeked and had a surprise birthday party for my Uncle Doyle. He will be turning 71 in September, he has Parkinson's and isn't doing the best, so we wanted to do something special for him. Here are a few pictures from our fun evening with my family!
